As a general guide, allow 300–500 lumens per metre for accent lighting (such as under seating or indirect mood lighting), 500–900 lumens per metre for task areas like kitchen worktops or tables, and 900+ lumens per metre for main interior lighting where the strip is providing the primary light source. The exact level needed will depend on mounting position, installation height, and how evenly the light is distributed. All of our LED strips are fully dimmable, so choosing a higher output strip with a compatible dimmer is often a smart option — this gives you the flexibility to increase brightness when needed and lower it for a softer, more relaxed atmosphere.
